Lucas Van Klaveren, a senior at University of Texas-Arlington representing The Netherlands, won Group A of the men's decathlon with 7,785 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University's Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif. Van Klaveren won the 400 meters in 47.06 seconds and prevailed in the javelin throw with a mark of 182-11 (55.57m), before taking third in the 1,500 meters in 4:43.44 to secure the victory.
